2015 Deacon Club Appreciation Day Recap

03/03/15

Dear Deacon Club members,Faircloth_Barry

Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for our annual Deacon Club Appreciation Day celebration this past Sunday in Deacon Tower at BB&T Field. I am proud to announce that we had record breaking attendance with over 15% of our membership represented. This is truly one of my favorite events of the year and the great turnout we had on Sunday made it even better.

Tradition and loyalty were on full display as we recognized Deacon Club members who have generously supported Wake Forest student-athletes during the 2014-15 giving year. Your commitment has directly impacted the lives of student-athletes and forwarded our mission of Developing Champions. It is the support of Deacon Club donors like you that will continue to advance the mission of Wake Forest Athletics and lead to athletic and academic accolades for our student-athletes.

One of my favorite parts of the event was listening to our members share their favorite Wake Forest athletics memories in a photo booth set up in the reception space. Many members chose the ACC Football Championship game in Jacksonville, Fla. as their favorite, but there was also a good variety, including moments such as a football win over Auburn in 1979 and the 2007 NCAA Men’s Soccer Championship game.

The photos and moments collected during the event will be used in materials for the Deacon Club “Bring Back the Legacy” campaign, which will be launched later this month. We hope you will help us spread the word to your friends and family so they will participate by sharing their favorite photos and memories on social media using the hashtag #BringItBack. More details will be communicated soon.

I would like to take this moment to thank all Deacon club members for your loyal support this year and every year. The continued investment of both your time and resources is allowing our coaches and support staff to continue to develop champions.

Go Deacs!

Barry Faircloth
