To accommodate the expansion of the conference to include Syracuse, Pittsburgh, and Notre Dame, the Atlantic Coast Conference has announced that the 2014 ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament will now feature a five-day bracket which will kick off in Greensboro, NC, on Wednesday, March 12 with ‘Opening Day Presented By Food Lion.’
Tickets for Wednesday’s ‘Opening Day’ will be sold separately from the tournament book. Each ticket is $35 and includes admission to all three of the Tournament’s first-day games. Tip-off times are scheduled for 1 p.m. (#12 vs. #13), 3:30 p.m. (#10 vs. #15) and 7 p.m. (#11 vs. #14).
In addition to all the exciting ACC basketball action, ticketholders may also enjoy a performance by country music sensation Scotty McCreery. The concert will take place inside the Greensboro Coliseum after the conclusion of the second game of the day (approximately 6 p.m.).
“With our conference expansion this year, we felt it was important to do something special to celebrate the start of this historic, 15-team ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament,” said ACC Commissioner John Swofford. “Having the opportunity to purchase a single ticket for Wednesday that includes three ACC basketball games and a performance by one of the rising young stars in the recording industry offers a tremendous value to our fans.”
Demon Deacon fans have two options for purchasing tickets for Wednesday’s ‘Opening Day.’ Tickets may be purchased through the Wake Forest Ticket Office or purchased directly through Ticketmaster. Tickets purchased through Wake Forest will be assigned in a Wake Forest block (exact location is TBD), whereas tickets purchased directly through Ticketmaster will be general admission.
