Join us for the McCreary Field House Groundbreaking Ceremony

08/05/14

Dear Deacon Club members,

Thanks to your loyal support, I am happy to announce that history was made on several fundraising fronts during the 2013-14 giving year. Your generous contributions led to unprecedented success in our final fundraising results, and I have never been as encouraged heading into a new academic and fiscal year as I am today.

Along with a successful campaign to increase our Deacon Club membership, we made significant strides in our endowment giving. Overall, new gifts to the Deacon Club totaled just over $48.18 million, which represents an increase of 216% in total commitments over last year.

In capital giving, we received over $7.38 million in gifts and more than $25.97 million in new pledges in support of capital projects during the 2013-14 fiscal year. This was led by the efforts of several significant donations including seven gifts over $1 million.

These generous capital contributions have allowed our department to proceed with breaking ground on the $21 million McCreary Field House, a 120-yard indoor practice facility.

The McCreary Field House Groundbreaking Ceremony is sure to be an event you will not want to miss. Constructing this facility will not only improve practice capabilities for our football team, basketball program and Olympic sports teams, it will serve as the first step in our overall athletic facilities plans for the area. In the future, plans call for the construction of a sports performance center and new basketball practice gym.

I hope that you will all be able to join us for this exciting event. Details for the groundbreaking ceremony are below. As always, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the Deacon Club offices at (336) 758-5626. I look forward to seeing you on September 5th.

Go Deacs!

Barry
