Making a Difference in Our Community

This year the Athletic Department—through a collaborative effort between the Ticket Office, Sales Team, Deacon Club and Community Outreach group—has made strides toward providing our local community with the opportunity to attend home football and men’s basketball games via two special programs made possible by the generous support of donors and fans.

Coaches’ Kids, which dates back more than 20 years, is designed to give at-risk youth the opportunity to experience a Wake Forest athletic event through tickets provided by donors. The program is open to non-profit organizations serving local youth eighth grade or younger, with current partners including Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and the Boys & Girls Club of America.

The impact of this program is demonstrated in the notes of appreciation we have received this fall, both from organization leaders and the kids themselves:

“I would like to thank everyone who has played a part in the donation of tickets through the Coaches’ Kids program, which has helped kids from families that struggle socially and financially. Because of this program, kids are able to attend games that they may not otherwise be able to.”

“Thank you for the tickets to the Wake Forest football game. My favorite part of the day was being in the football stadium because I had never been in one before.”

New this year, another program benefitting our community is the Military/First Responder Program, which sponsors tickets for active, retired, reserve and veteran military personnel, as well as first responders.

Thanks to the overwhelming support of our donors and fans, we have been able to grow these programs extensively over the past three months, with thousands of deserving individuals attending home football games.

If you are interested in getting involved with Coaches’ Kids or the Military/First Responder Program, please contact us at 336.758.3322 ext. 1. Our current packages range from sponsoring 25 to 1,500 individuals, but there is no limit to the number of lives you can impact through these programs.
